2025 International Plant Trialing Conference – History and Background
The first International Plant Trialing Conference was held in the U.K. in 2011. Additional events were put together in 2013 at Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, PA, and in 2015 with the Farwest Show in Portland, OR.
After an absence of 10 years and advocacy from many in the industry for its return, All-America Selections (AAS) will revive the event with the 2025 International Plant Trialing Conference.
A replacement for the AAS Summer Summit, the event will still feature AAS judges but is also tailored to academics, breeders, trial coordinators and managers, and other professionals involved in the industry. The event will be filled with educational sessions, panel discussions, and a huge list of speakers on a variety of different industry topics, including annuals, perennials, shrubs, vegetables, and more.
2025 International Plant Trialing Conference – Event Details
The 2025 International Plant Trialing Conference will be centered around sharing best practices in plant trialing. Additionally, there will be two tracks for attendees, tailored to both newcomers and veterans of the field. The newcomer track will focus on the basics of plant trialing while the veteran track will cover finance, management, and marketing aspects of plant trialing.
An additional highlight of the conference is that the different trials will highlight regional performances, with a plan to select between six and 10 breeders/growers to see how plants perform in different locations, followed by sharing the collected trial data. For better distribution of trial data throughout the industry, the event will also coordinate and test the relaunch of its national plant trial database.

2025 International Plant Trialing Conference – Date and Location
The 2025 International Plant Trialing Conference will take place on Oct. 13-16 in Minneapolis, MN, at the Embassy Suites Minneapolis Airport, with a free shuttle available to the event.
2025 International Plant Trialing Conference – Registration
Registration and room blocking will open on Nov. 1, 2024.
