Dedicated exclusively to the full-service production of nail polish and nail care products, Fiabila leverages its global industrial network (10 factories in 6 countries [1]) to meet the diverse needs of brands and end consumers. As demonstrated by their recent proposal to reinvent the professional UV Gel concept, the development of ever-greener and safer innovative formulas lies at the core of this strategy.
Green chemistry
To meet the rising demand for more natural solutions, Fiabila offers high-performance nail polishes with up to 86% naturally derived ingredients, in accordance with ISO 16128.
To offer this alternative to conventional nail polish formulas, Fiabila traced the origin and production process of one of their key components: nitrocellulose. Derived from naturally sourced cellulose, this ingredient undergoes a nitration reaction, for which Fiabila and its suppliers have ensured adherence to green chemistry principles.
This responsible sourcing is complemented by the use of solvents and polymers of natural origin derived from wheat, cane sugar, cassava and corn, and by the use of pigments and pearl suspensions from natural origin.
Fiabila continues to work closely with its suppliers to further enhance these natural content levels, particularly by seeking naturally derived resins that match the performance of their oil-based counterparts.
Water-based nail polishes
Alongside these highly natural formulas, Fiabila is also working on water-based alternatives.
Formulated with at least 50% water as the main solvent, these nail polishes offer the advantage of being odorless and non-flammable.
These formulas, which are particularly well-suited to children – especially those that can be washed off with warm, soapy water who would appreciate their ephemeral use and ease of application and removal. For consumers unfamiliar with these products, especially in Asia, their odorlessness and easy removal are significant advantages!
Regarding the removal of the product, Fiabila offers two formulation options in addition to the warm-water wash-off option: peel off – lifting off the film that has formed – or wipe off – using a regular nail polish remover.
Finally, thanks to the excellent affinity of its active ingredients with water, Fiabila has turned the color & care concept on its head and adopted a care infused color approach, which consists of high-performance, hyperactivated water-based nail polish formulas. Dedicated primarily to skincare, they can be colored, even soberly or naturally like nude.
