Heuchera ‘Rosewood’, a new variety from Terra Nova | Terra Nova Nurseries
Terra Nova Nurseries has announced the debut of Heuchera ‘Rosewood’, which performed well in Terra Nova’s full-sun garden trials with minimal maintenance. The new heuchera maintains strong performance in sun, shade, containers, or in the ground.
Heuchera ‘Rosewood’ captivates the eye with its glossy, deep umber-brown foliage, contrasted by cream-colored flowers that lure hummingbirds and other pollinators. This recent introduction from Terra Nova showcases a moderate, clumping growth habit and thrives in both full sun and part shade. Thick, leathery foliage gives ‘Rosewood’ natural insect resistance, making it a standout choice for borders, edges, and mass plantings.
The breeding team at Terra Nova recommends allowing ‘Rosewood’ to dry moderately between waterings during finishing time in the greenhouse. Finishing growers can expect the finish time from a liner to a 4-inch pot to be six to eight weeks; the finish time from a liner to a 1-gallon pot is 10-12 weeks. ‘Rosewood’ grows most actively in spring and reaches a height of 8 inches, a width of 16 inches, and a flower height of 18 inches. USDA Hardiness Zones for the company’s new coral bells are Zones 4-9.
