With the college football regular season past the midway point, team social media pages remained in prime form with their post-victory jabs.
The Wisconsin Badgers picked up their third consecutive win Saturday, taking down the Northwestern Wildcats 23-3 in Evanston, Illinois, and moving to 5-2 on the season.
The game was played in the Wildcats’ temporary stadium on Lake Michigan, the final game Northwestern will play at the picturesque — and unconventional — field. The Badgers said farewell to the venue with a parting jab.

Here’s a look at some of the best postgame trolls from Week 8 of the college football season.
Cincinnati 24, Arizona State 14
The Cincinnati Bearcats kept their bounce-back campaign rolling Saturday afternoon, downing the Arizona State Sun Devils 24-14 for their third Big 12 win of the season. The Bearcats only won three games in 2023, including just one in conference play.
Cincinnati’s account posted a graphic with a caption trolling its opponent’s Sun Devil mascot, boasting that they were “feeling devilish” about the win.

UTEP 30, FIU 21
After going winless in their first six games, the UTEP Miners notched their first triumph of the season Wednesday, earning a 30-21 win against the Florida International Panthers. Running back Jevon Jackson rushed for148 yards and a score in the victory.
The Miners offered a play on FIU’s initials after the game, swapping the ‘U’ for an open-ended question.

Tulane 24, Rice 10
The Tulane Green Wave won their fourth consecutive game with a home triumph against the Rice Owls, who are now 1-4 across their past four outings. The Green Wave defense produced five turnovers in the victory.
After the win, Tulane’s social media team produced a troll that referenced the food that shares its opponent’s name, as well as its own Cajun roots.

Louisiana 34, Coastal Carolina 24
On the note of Cajun-related jabs, Tulane’s fellow Pelican State neighbors — the aptly-named Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns — had a troll of their own ready after a 34-24 win over the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers.
Louisiana’s “chicken dinner!” victory graphic referenced Coastal Carolina’s mascot, a rooster. The graphic was paired with a caption that paid homage to the Ragin’ Cajuns’ Louisiana roots.

Illinois 21, Michigan 7
The Illinois Fighting Illini added another win to their résumé Saturday, taking down the Michigan Wolverines 21-7 to secure a 6-1 overall mark. The result added to a campaign to forget for the defending national champion Wolverines, who fell to 4-3.
Illinois’ stadium operators added an exclamation point to the victory, playing “Mr. Brightside,” which Michigan plays during the fourth quarter of home games at the Big House, on the stadium speakers as the clock wound down.
